Training And placement officer

The cell was established in 1991 to bring enhanced relevance of the education and training program under the charge of Training and placement officer. To keep with the rapid technological advancement in industry. A wide variety of activities has been taken up in collaboration with industry to improve the quality of passouts .The scope of the scheme is to promote industry-institute interaction in improving the quality of passouts .All concerned have freedom to think of additional inputs from industry, relate them to functions of technical education system ,ultimate outcomes and system improvement.

Some of the major activities in the area of industry-institute interaction are:-

1. To integrate industrial training and other inputs from the industry with the teaching learning process in the polytechnic.
2. To acquaint Polytechnic teachers with the current industrial practices and techniques in the areas of specialty.
3. To acquaint the industry with the program of technician education and their implementation aspects.
4. To offer consultancy and testing to solve industrial problems
5. To  assist the industry in the selection of suitable candidates to fill up job positions  through campus interviews and provide career guidance to students.
6. To collaborate with board of apprenticeship training and the industry for the training and placement of polytechnic products.
7. The students are exposed to industrial environment, machinery equipment’s ,manufacturing process and field practices. The minimum   two industrial visits are planned in each semester.

Extension lectures
Institute continuously upgrades its staff and students with latest information in various fields by inviting prominent persons from different field so as to share their knowledge with staff and students .Extension and expert lectures are organized in various fields for students.

Project work and evaluation of it
All the students have to prepare one major and one minor project and students are preparing the utility items in their workshop practices.  Associating précising engineers and experts from industry carries out te evaluation of students.  Research development and consultancy.

Continuing Education

The institute has identified some continuing education programs for working professionals in tune with changing industrial requirements. These are as Follows:-

1. Entrepreneurship Development 
With the industrial globalization, the enterprises have to be developed by the budding engineers to six week entrepreneurship development programs are regularly organized in institute in collaboration with HARDICORN and other banks.
2.Cooperative Education Programmes 
Some of emerging areas like computer, electronics ,mechanical .the efforts are being made to redesign these conventional programmes on co-operative basis.
3. Apprenticeship training programs
There is great potential of existing statutory provisions under the apprenticeship act for providing industrial exposure and in hand experience .Board of entrepreneurship training, Kanpur has provided 31 seats to thee institute for graduate engineers & I.T.I/Vocational technicians.

Community development cell
 

In addition to running the regular diploma courses the institution is actively imparting technical training for socio-economic uplift of the weaker section of the society. Community Development Cell runs this scheme a scheme of ministry of human resources and development, New Delhi. Under This scheme  short duration courses ranging from one to six month in the need based areas like computer awareness, Radio & TV repair, Motor Winding, Stenography, House wiring etc. are running for needy Unemployed youth.
